My aunt looks 70, acts 50 and has the energy of a 30-year-old. She is indeed ageless. She has blond-white hair worn curled to her shoulders with a hair band that matches whatever beautiful slacks and sweater she has on. Her clothes are the finest fabrics, the finest cuts. She weighs 99-102 and is 5’ 2". She was married to my Uncle Jim till he died and misses him all the time. Since she had no children, she has learned to entertain and rely on herself.

She plays duplicate bridge, golf, walks four to five miles a day, cooks delicious dinners, entertains friends, knows what’s going on in the world. She is an imp most of all.

When she goes to play golf, she takes four clubs – a 5 wood, a 7 iron, a 9 iron and a putter and that’s it. She keeps her tiny bag with her, never takes a practice swing and wears out the much younger people she plays with as she darts around the course.

She has fur coats but refuses to show them. Thirty years ago long before it was fashionable, she started wearing the fur hidden inside. The coats are like her. She has a lovely exterior but the wonder of her is inside – all warm and furry.
